Mission

El Centro serves as a hub of organized activities and resources that support student transition, retention, graduation and academic advancement.

Mission
Through campus and community partnerships, the mission of El Centro is to promote a critical understanding of Chicane and Latiné communities within the United States and internationally.
Fulfilling our mission
We achieve this mission by offering workshops, an extensive programming calendar, and a welcoming space where students can learn about campus resources, student organizations, faculty and staff connections, and opportunities for involvement. Our efforts promote cultural affirmation, social justice values, and community service, while raising awareness of the social, political, economic, historical, and cultural realities of Chicane and Latiné populations. By participating in our activities, students gain a deeper understanding of cultural dynamics, social and political processes, and the historical contributions of Chicane and Latiné communities to the United States and the broader world community.
