Pan Dulce Fridays

Pan Dulce Fridays—hosted by El Centro in collaboration with HSI Initiatives—have become a beloved tradition at UC Santa Cruz. Held every other Friday, these community gatherings offer a welcoming space for connection, conversation, and cultural affirmation.

Each event features a delicious spread of pan dulce, café, and chocolate abuelita, inviting students to slow down and share stories, laughter, and sometimes even a little chisme. The gatherings blend informal and intentional dialogue—centering student experiences, campus resources, and topics relevant to Chicanx and Latiné communities.

While the pan dulce brings the comfort of home, the conversations feed the soul. These moments remind us of the power of gathering together—to feel seen, heard, and supported.
