Unión

Unión, formerly known as La Unión De La Raza, was a coalition of Chicanx and Latinx student organizations and individuals who sought to develop better communication, networking, and collaboration, among Chicanx and Latinx students within the university. La Unión De La Raza was formed in the Fall quarter of 1996.

In June of 2014, El Centro interns and Dr. Estrada called a meeting where various student organization representatives met to discuss bringing back “La Union De La Raza”. After much discussion, all present decided to move forward and begin to meet as well as change the name to Unión. The meetings began in the Fall of 2014 and have continued once a month.

Hermanas Unidas de UCSC, Sigma Lambda Gamma, Students Informing Now (SIN), MEChA, ChALE, Hermanos Unidos, Sigma Pi Alpha Sorority Inc., Sigma Lambda Beta International Fraternity, Inc., Salsita Dance Group
