Pan Dulce Friday Series
Pan Dulce Fridays, hosted by El Centro in collaboration with HSI Initiatives, have made a joyful return, becoming a cherished tradition on campus. These bi-weekly gatherings offer a unique blend of informal and structured dialogue, centering on support services and resources, and experiences and issues pertinent to our communities while celebrating cultural ties through a beloved staple: pan dulce.
Every other Friday, students gather in a welcoming space where the aroma of fresh pan dulce fills the air. The spread features an assortment of pan dulce, café, y chocolate abuelita. It's not just about the sweet treat, though; it's about what they represent—a sweet connection to our cultural roots and shared experiences. A beautiful reminder of home and the conversations around the table with loved ones. While food nourishes our bodies, the stories at the table nourish our souls. It's a space where conversations flow effortlessly from heartfelt discussions to lighthearted chisme (gossip), where music provides a soundtrack to the gathering, and where both old friends and new acquaintances come together to forge meaningful connections.
Pan Dulce Fridays are more than just a chance to indulge in delicious treats; they embody the essence of communal support and cultural appreciation. They echo the importance of being part of a supportive community, as we pursue our personal and academic goals.
