Transfer Student Activities are organized and facilitated by the Transfer Student Committee made up of academic student interns from El Centro. The Transfer Student Committee organizes a variety of events throughout the academic year such as Student Welcome Panel (Fall 2013) “Come meet other transfer students and hear advice from returning transfers on navigating UCSC”, Game Nights (Winter 2013), Evening with Professors (Spring 2014) where students had the opportunity to meet and greet professors. This is critical because, unlike those who have been here for four years  transfer students have less time to develop strong connections with faculty. These events are not exclusive to transfer students, but are geared to benefit transfer students' experience at UCSC by engaging with resources like Services for Transfer And Re-entering Students (STARS), faculty, staff, student cohorts, and safe spaces on campus.
